At approximately 11:45 MST on Sunday June 20, 2010, havoc broke loose in the primary room at our church building.
Sweet little Stella, the sole angel child in my primary class, began sobbing as our singing leader got out a fishing pole and began placing paper fish all over the front of the room. Children who were singing especially well would be selected to 'catch' one of these fish which had the title of a song to sing on it. Stella kept saying "I don't want to do this" which is extremely uncharicteristic of her because she is always so attentive and involved and loves everything about primary. After some probing I found out that her fish had died the night before and that it was her only best pet in the whole world. Broke my heart. Every time someone caught another fish a new batch of tears and sobs would start. We finally left the room and talked in the hallway about everything - except fish of course.
I love primary!
